What is the best advice you ever received in the business?
Let's pass on that advice give the green horns words of wisdom!
Mine:
It's professional wrestling... there is contact if you can't handle it there's the door.

Hey im a 12 year veteran of wrestling with 8 years pro and 4 years amateur...
My advice from Buddy Lee Parker was:
Tuck, Slap and Blow and then he looked at me and said Tuck ur chin, Slap the mat and be sure to Blow all your air out of your lungs

Don't rush thing or jump the gun with your instructor. It might seem slow doing millions of back bumps, three quarter rolls, squats, and collar&elbow tie ups; but those are to get you ready for bigger things.
If a trainer teachers you how to body slam or has you doing tiger rolls the first day, get out of there. He doesn't know what he's doing.

Best one I got was from my manager Big Al Wallace. (And he was a manager in every sense of the word. He would book my accomodation if needed, organize press interviews and public speaking. And come down to ringside with a folded chair.) "If it looks good, and it's safe, then it's correct". Now I know it's not his original quote but I tell you what, it's the first thing I say to my students and it's wrestling gold in my opinion.

Some great advise I got from a vet, the famous Cousin Bubba. He just happens to be my uncle, he told me
"If you're not comfortable with it, don't do it, you'll end up gettin' hurt."

Be repetative. Practice makes perfect. (Jason Knight, Bob Backlund) Don't be afraid to ask questions from the vets (Stevie Richards) Learn from everyone in the business from the janitor to the promoter (Percy Pringle aka Paul Bearer) Remember you are not born a pro wrestler someone makes you into a pro wrestler (Les Thatcher)
