I'm very fascinated by wrestling belts i love the detailing that goes into making them and the dedication of perfection that the makers have but what i would like to know is how can someone like me get into making wrestling belts almost or as good as Reggie parks does anyone know how i can start making wrestling belts myself like the pros out there? is there any books on how they make them or a guide or something'? if anyone knows anything about it please let me know as soon as possible I'd love to create wrestling belts for a living it's my dream other then wrestling so please hit me back if anyone knows

It all depends on your abilities as an engraver, really. Reggie Park's works are beautiful, I fully intend to use him myself. He may charge a little more, but it's worth it in terms of quality.
But if it's advice you're looking for, depending where you live, maybe you could e-mail him directly for advice. Reggie is getting up in years now, he might be looking for a protoge or something.

If you can afford it Reggie Parks is the man, but most promotions can't put a thousand dollars into a belt. A local belt maker is a good idea. Another way around is to buy a boxing belt (ex: store.titleboxing.com/title-classic-title-belts.html ) and then have a trophy shop or engraver modify it. So many wrestling federation just use WWE replicas, but that seems a little too generic for my tastes, and the price is about the same.

I used TABC Belts for our main title: They're good, hardwearing belts. Good quality too. And at $150 for the basic model you cant complain price wise either! Here's the link: www.tabcbelts.com

Didn't TABC make the FWA's infamous Toys R Us belt? I know I looked at them, but the whole presentation just looked cheap and the fact that they seem targeted at yard groups put me off.
For me, it's Reggie all the way when I get mine done. If he's good enough for two generations of McMahons and Dennis Coraluzzo, he's good enough for me. When Vince calls TABC, so will I.

I know of 3 promotions in the UK and loads in the US that use TABC. I wouldnt personally say that they're aimed at backyarders, based on that fact alone. I agree that Reggie's belts ARE far superior, but who has $2000 for a custom belt just knocking around?? I'm planning on replacing it with something from HERE sometime soon though.

Now Wildcat is some good work. But if you've already got a belt, you may as well save your money and buy one of Reggie's.
I worked out who else I know of who uses ABC. Gauntley. That alone is a good reason not to use them.

I think its a matter of how big you want to make your fed. A small time fed can get away with a generic belt from titleboxing.com or TABC, or a WWE/WCW/WWF replica belt that's modified a bit. Fans in small towns are usually so excited they there's a wrestling event going on in their area that they aren't real concerned with title belts, pyro-technics, or all the bells & whistles so to speak. Getting $600-$2000 belts for a federation that barely breaks even seems a little silly to me.
On the other hand if your fed is a regional power house, in a good sized area competing with other feds a belt looks cheap or generic, could really hurt your product. Putting a little more into belts and certain extras could make the difference between being the best or just another fed in your area.
Right now I have one belt that I'm planning on using in my fed. It cost a little under $300. I'm looking into getting two tag titles as well.

I got my belt from a friend that makes belts, but its more of his hobby, than his business. Also that post was over two years ago, so I'm not sure if he's still doing it.
