Hi everyone =)
My name is Sean Carcaise, Im 16 and I'm from New Castle, Pennsylvania.
I am starting a small Backyard/Indy wrestling fed, and we are going to rent firehalls and stuff to put on shows.
I am also using my ring for MMA fighting.
My ring is not yet built, and I have only $400 right now to start out with, so I am looking to make a cheap ring.
I hope I like it here =)

hey hows it going
im a young wrestler from adelaide and i have been training for a few years. i started off in a small backyard fed when i was eleven... the old lounge room arena ahaha. over the years i have trained in some pretty stupid rings and done some really stupid things. i am now 17 and training in a pro fed. i am currently trying to put together a training ring as i am hoping to debut on some major show in the future.

My guess is that you won't ever get the answer to that There's a whole lot of "professionally trained" guys who stay here until they get the ring plans and then they're gone. Yarders... Typical

Guys like Tully, Ole and Dusty? Man they were awesome back then. So you're more of a old school techical wrestler? I like that style but modern audience doesn't always get that. They've seen CZW and ECW so now they come for the show only to see someone get crippled. I mean, back in the day a headlock or a elbow drop were finishers! Now you got to climb on top of a building and dive on top of the other guy with a monster truck just to please the fans. i don't get that, and back when Race was wrestling you only had a few moves in a match, nowadays you got 8 million of them just in the first few minutes. Wrestling has changed, BIG TIME.

You know Matt? Matt Burns? He was "Sick" Nicm Mondo in CZW but he retired. He was into the hardcore, garbage wrestling. In his documentary "Unscarred: The Life of Sick Nick Mondo" (a good documentary, could use some more CZW material) he mentioned that he regrets his decision of that style. Couldn't blame him, look at his matches. Brutal. You can only take so much bumps. Actually that's not the case for all guys. For example, and probably the best one, Ric Flair. The guy has a unlimited reserve of bumps and he can still work a crowd. He still "got it"

Post by randydirtysanchez on May 30, 2007 10:45:15 GMT -5
True he does.Young guys now think you have to bump all the time.I have wrestled matches where i only bumped maybe three or four times the whole match. Its all about how you work it.

Exactly. And if you do want to show off your fancy moves then AT LEAST sell. I hate no-selling. Happens all the time with smaller guys. Punch, move - no sell. Happens ALL the time, and yeah, it's been told already, but a match isn't just about the highspots.

Post by randydirtysanchez on May 30, 2007 11:13:21 GMT -5
yeap but the younger ones think you supposed to have all these highspots to get over.Don't want to give the fans all you have and can do in one match got to leave them wanting more.

Couldn't have said it any better. And if you're doing a billion moves in a match, then you never get to perfect any of them. In my opinion, you need some moves "your own". You have to have a moveset or a punch or something like that in every match. For instance, The Rock's punch (the one when he spins his fist 'n all), Goldberg's Spear followed by the Jackhammer. You get my point. Randy I think we've made quite and interesting read for greens

I agree, now if the greens will only l;isten and take it as advise and not putting them . I don't care how long you been working i think you never stop learning and improving. I know i didn't.

Exactly, you'll never know everything, but that doesn't mean you have to give up learning. If you've got veterans working in your fed or in your territory then that goes double then. Try to learn as much as possible.

Post by randydirtysanchez on May 30, 2007 11:31:47 GMT -5
True, i know i wanted the veterans to tell me if ilooked bad and what i needed to work on. I never got mad about it. I took and learned from it to better myself.

About bettering yourself as a wrestler, I've just recently started looking at my tapes, kind of studying them or so. The first time I look at the tape, I'm like :"Damn I look stupid out there" if the guy is out, and basically I can just see the negatives of myself. The second time I go through the tape I can watch it normally, learning from the mistakes and not doing them again. I may look like a egomaniac, looking at my matches, but it's a good way to improve youself.

Typical Yeah i know what you mean.Myself i was trained by guys who trained by old nwa guys from back in rickflair days. This tread is for welcoming new members. I'd appreciate it, if you guys would take it easy on them. Yes a lot of yarders come here and some times I have to keep them in check. My goal is to convince them to get trained, not to chase them away.

Actually, I for one am not against yarders, I'm against their attitude or you know, the way they get out of here when they get the plans. i think backyarding is positive by some degree, you see, when theyre willing to risk and get hurt in their backyard, it shows that they have the heart, the will to do it. Most of them have tremendeous potential and they should get trained. I think it's somewhat sad when I see yarders. i feel bad for them. you know, they want to be like wrestlers, so they wrestle...in their backyard. Backyard wrestler is like a stereotype now, people think that they are stupid kids bashing each other with light tubes and jumping off ladders. Not all of them are like that. So don't get us wrong, and I'm sure Randy didn't mean that as a sign of hate against him, we don't have anything against backyarders, or backyard wrestling in general (if it isn't too extreme), we just don't like them leaving when they get what they want.

^I know you mean well, but a lot of times if you say, imply, or assume derogatory things about people right after their fisrt post, you end up chasing them off.
The ring plans are sort of bait to get people in the door. If someone is serious about the wrestling business they'll come for the plans, and end up staying because there's a lot of useful information, advice and contacts here. If they're not serious about the business it doesn't matter if they get the ring plans because they won't be willing to invest the time, effort and money necessary to build the ring. It doesn't cost me anything to e-mail them the plans, so its no big deal.
On an up note, we do agree about backyarders. As long as they don't do anything stupid/dangerous or act like they're on the same level as Pro Wrestlers (who have paid their dues), I don't have a problem with them.

Hey everyone. My name is John Campbell. I'm currently trying to start a promotion called DCEW (Davie County Extreme Wrestling) based out of Mocksville, NC. My stage name is The Half-demon, Mordrid Badler. My reason for being here is not to just get the ring plans, but to get any advice/help in getting DCEW underway.

Hello all:
My name is Cliff Davis, a now years-long "inactive" indy wrestler from Cary, NC. I was trained by none other than "The Shooter" himself, Dean Malenko in '96-'97 at Malenko's Wrestling School in Tampa. What an unbeleivable experience! I trained with alot of fantastic workers, including former WWE'ers Gymini aka Mike & Todd Shane (great guys, by the way). I worked shows with the gimmick Little Scott Dudley (classiic ECW-era Dudley look with overalls, tie-dye shirts, and black, taped up glasses). It was a rib on Malenko's assistant trainer, Jeff Bradley (ECW's "Original Dudley Dudley"). I purchased a ring from NC indy wrestler LA Wild One a few years back, and currently have it in storage . While I've been inactive for years, I would like to start running shows here in central NC. We'll see what 2008 holds!

my name is Frank. I am a HUGE fan of Wrestling, I have had aspirations to be a wrestler for years, but never went anywhere with it. Thank you for this site. I had an offer from Scott D'Moure To go to Bodyslammers in Lima. I wish I had gone with that option. Ah the memory of past mistakes in judgment.

My Name is Brian Louchen. Worker Name Justin Vega. I was trained by Kenny Courageous, Devon Fury, Steve Gligovic, Noa, just to name a few. Ive worked mainly in IL, Chicago and Peoria, and IN, Indianapolis and Highland. Been in the business for 6 years. The last show i worked was in April of '05 in Chicago at Slam Wrestling. I have 4 children - 3 acquired, 1 mine and started raising all of them, so wrestling became less a priority. I worked "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan in '02 in chicago. Ive met, hacksaw, the Roadwarriors, dlo brown, buff bagwell, headbanger Mosh, honky tonk man, abyss, and chris harris. I also had a training session with dlo brown. My goal for the past 5 years is to actually run and promote a wrestling federation in the chicago suburbs. Im planning to build a flexibeam 18 ft ring for 3,000.00. Im hoping wood and welding the frame will cost 1800.00. Feel free to ask me any questions, thanks.
